It’s a great balance. And looking through the document I can tell how detailed she was in her work! I struggle with tense in my novel and Gemma found all the inconsistencies. She also pointed out where I was overly using words, tightened up long sentences, pointed out plot inconsistencies and even suggested a useful structural edit. Gemma is also a pleasure to work with, fast and kept to the agreed upon deadline.

Gemma not only edited my novel but also helped me elevate it to a new level. She is precise, with a sharp eye and logical approach, tactfully pointing out errors and inconsistencies without making you feel embarrassed. I exchanged a beta read of the first part of my novel for an honest review. Gemma contacted me part way through the reading to ask if it would be okay if she added some editing comments. I was blown away that she would go above and beyond the agreed upon workload. The critique was filled with a wonderful balance of praise and suggestions so that I felt encouraged in my journey but also challenged to do better with my writing. Her comments were honest and fair, and offered not only an explanation as to why she was adding critique in that spot, but also suggestions for me to consider to reiterate her point as well as help me see how it could be better. All the suggestions were done so that I could easily accept or reject, and often times I rewrote the section in my own words, knowing what she had meant. I can not recommend Gemma enough!

I needed a CV, I didn’t know where to start with it!! I have a tendency of just putting ….. all the time! I don’t have much grammar and punctuation knowledge if I’m honest!!
